Listener Digest Catch-Up: Episodes 085, 086, and 087
Everything you need from the absent listener digests that could've been.
Well, we’ve got a lot to catch up on.
Between travel and other various work responsibilities, we’ve clearly fallen a bit behind on our recent listener digests. In an effort to remedy this, here is everything you need from the last few episodes. Is this an effort to press the reset button and move forward like none of this ever happened?
… yes, it is.
Retail Therapy 085: Home Bars & Hype Beasts (Listener Questions)
In this episode, we fielded a ton of listener questions — which brands give Instagram vs. legit, when brands over-hypebeast, brands that have fallen off, brands we miss, moving cities in your 20s, cost effective vinyl setup starting points, bar cart flexes, college game day fits that aren't polo shirts, the ideal tailgate, preventing wear and tear in the crotch of jeans, shopping in Italy vs. USA, cologne recs, and more. We also discuss some articles of interest ranging from Charli XCX's birthday party, Rodent Men out - Beefcakes in, and Sabrina Carpenter's Erewhon smoothie.
Because we jumped around so much during our listener questions episode, it will be nearly impossible to pinpoint every product and article. Treat this as your opportunity to go on a Retail Therapy-coded scavenger hunt.
Retail Therapy 086: Listener Questions, Part II
During part two of our listener questions, we started off with some luggage talk. But in the bulk the episode, we answer even more listener questions: how much we take trends into consideration when getting dressed, help for dad's trying to dress relevant, watch recommendations for someone starting their career, taking the dive into expensive watches, alternatives for Sambas aka Rishis, trends to keep an eye on as we approach fall, and more. We also talk went through some articles of interest pertaining to Barry Keoghan's Manchester United campaign, going "Monk Mode," the rise of cassette tapes, and the new Anthony Bourdain biopic. And, of course, we added to our wishlists.
Barrett listed out a bunch of Samba/Rishi alternatives, which you can find them all here:
Retail Therapy 087: Spain, Japan, and Italy
Retail Therapy's summer vacation finally ended which meant we had to recap all of our international travels in one place. Barrett went to Spain for his honeymoon, Randy went to Japan for his own personal enjoyment, and I went to Italy for a family wedding. Each of us go through their highs and lows of the trip, their best shopping moments, Dos and Don'ts, and a lot more.
I also did a very large film dump over on
if you’re more of a visual learner like myself:As for our most recent Fall Fashion 2024 episode, that listener digest will come later this week as there’s enough information in our rundown to write a novel. But rest assured, we’ll link to everything we talked about. In the meantime, don’t hesitate to watch the episode on YouTube (and subscribe while you’re there!).
Talk soon,
